OUR
HISTORY
The town of Alabaster Michigan was built on the mining of gypsum. In its heyday it had a quarry, a mill, a company store, an office building, a hotel, a schoolhouse, a post office, with its own zip code, and rows of workers homes. In 1902 the U.S. Gypsum company donated land for the establishment of a church. Later that year the Alabaster Bible Church was established. Although the town of Alabaster no longer exists, the Alabaster Bible church has remained. And for over 120 years it has continued to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
