ALABASTER

Having vacationed in the Tawas area for many years, Pastor Dean Stewart and wife, Peggy, feel excited and privileged to serve the Lord at Alabaster Bible Church.  After serving as a pastoral assistant for two years, since 1978 Pastor Dean served as lead pastor in two mid-western churches.  To their family of three children, they are blessed to have 15 grandchildren to keep them young at heart.

In July of 2018, after 35 years of fruitful ministry, the Stewarts retired from Mayfair Bible Church in Flushing, MI and began an interim ministry through IMI/SOS International.  Since retirement until May of 2019, the Stewarts drove 3 hours each way to help a struggling church in Wellston, MI.  Today it's their joy to serve just 11 miles south of their cottage in East Tawas.  

 

Pastor Dean is a Bible teacher by training and conviction.  His lessons and messages are solidly Bible-based and relevant to the needs and climate of our times.  The Stewarts bring to Alabaster Bible a grace-filled Gospel freshness coupled with years of experience in healthy, growing churches.  On eight occasions, Pastor Dean has made 10 day trips to Russia to teach young Russian pastors.  With a heart for young people, the Stewarts have authored and published a series of children's books called TruthTales.  Pastor Dean also serves as a trustee and resident teacher at Carriagetown Ministries in Flint, MI.
